THE BLUHM FAMILY BOOK

Book Design

The Bluhm Family is a 320-page bilingual publication documenting the history of the Bluhm family from Cologne, Germany, through original archival materials, documents, photographs, and rare certificates spanning several generations. The design approach was guided by the desire to transform extensive historical research into a coherent and engaging reading experience. A carefully structured grid system, clear typographic hierarchy, and thoughtful integration of archival materials were developed to balance historical authenticity with contemporary editorial design.

The design creates a rhythm between historical content and visual storytelling, enabling readers to navigate a complex body of material with clarity and ease.
The result is a contemporary archival publication that preserves family history while demonstrating the power of design to transform research materials into a meaningful and enduring visual experience.
